Hey guys, guess what... it's my 1 year blogiversary! I can't believe it's been that long... it feels like just a short while ago I was thinking "maybe I would like this blogging thing." I didn't really expect anyone but my mom and a few friends to read it, and now I have faithful readers all over the world. Pretty crazy.
I decided to blog for one reason: to enjoy the beauty I saw around me. Not to make money, to become a career blogger, or to promote myself... but just to focus on the pretty things that made me happy. Sometimes the beauty is a good recipe, a lovely home, a crafty project, or glamorous fashion. But whatever it is that day, it inspires me creatively and brings a smile to my face. I hope it has done a little bit of that for you too.
When I began, I challenged myself to write a post every single day (M-F), and I've managed to stick to it. Granted, sometimes that daily post came very late at night, but it was there. As I begin my second year of blogging, I'm re-thinking a few things. From this point forward, my goal is to post at around 3-4 times a week. These posts may be spread out over each day, or I may group a few together. I think this will be more manageable and enjoyable (that is the purpose, after all).
I'd love some feedback from you. Are there any features you particularly like or don't like? Sick of recipes? Want more home-decorating? Whatever it is, let me know.
In
honor of this momentous occasion, I've got a little giveaway in store.
I'm working on some new designs for an upcoming craft show, and these
earrings are a favorite of mine. Warm gray roses dangle gently on
aged brass kidney loop earrings. The blooms are large, measuring
approximately 4 cm x 3 cm. The size makes them a great statement piece,
and the neutral tone keeps it from going over the top. Just leave a comment to enter! The winner will be announced Friday.
Thanks for a wonderful first year!
The blog has been a joy to read and the roses are beautiful!!!

ReplyDeleteErin-
ReplyDeleteI have SO enjoyed reading your blog over the past year! I think I started reading it 3 or 4 posts in. I have especially enjoyed the recipes, DIY, and Weekend Glimpse segments. Oh, and the beautiful photo you've included in each post! I've found something to like in each post because we share a lot of the same interest. :D It's a running joke between me and my husband that I refer to your blog as "That Girl's Blog"- and he knows exactly who I'm talking about. Your blog was the first I started following daily. It has inspired me to start blogging again, be it few and far between, but still more than it has been in the past! :) I hope you blog more than your 3 or 4 days-a-week goal, but I understand that it is time consuming! It was nice to learn your inspiration behind your blog and it makes me think "Why do I blog?"
Cheers to making it a whole year!
Sarah
