My wedding dress was a ballgown by Mon Cheri. It was pale champagne with a satin bodice and a full tulle skirt, edged in beaded lace with a cathedral length train. The dress was the complete opposite of what I always thought I'd wear... I always imagined myself in something modern and sleek, more of a couture look. But then when I saw my dress, I just fell in love with it. There is something about getting to wear a princess dress, and since we had already booked the venue, I knew it was perfect for the old Hollywood theme.
For jewelry, I wore a beautiful antique bracelet that has been worn by all the women in my family on their wedding day, for the last few generations. Our rings were white gold. My earrings were dropped pearls, a gift from my groom, and my pearl and diamond necklace was a gift from my parents.
My shoes were pale gold with crystal details, a kitten heel. My mom made my veil, a simple one-layer of slightly gathered tulle.
The bridesmaids wore separates by Ann Taylor, a satin champagne skirt with an ivory top. If I had to choose now, I'd probably put them all in different dresses, in shades of gold, vintage styles.
The men wore classic black tuxes with satin lapels and feathered boutonnieres I made.
My mom made the flower girl's dress, ivory satin with beaded details and a wide gold sash.
