After the wedding ceremony, we greeted all of our guests while the string quartet continued to play. Everyone had some light hors d'oeuvres, and then it was time for dinner. Our caterer was phenomenal, and served up a delicious meal in spite of the power outage (he managed to run extension cords to another part of the theater that was on a generator).
In lieu of a traditional wedding cake, my mom had made some amazing cupcakes... they were dark chocolate cake with a cheesecake filling, dipped in glossy ganache, topped with more whipped ganache and a piece of gilded chocolate. These scrumptious delights were served for dessert alongside fresh chocolate chip cookies baked right there on the spot and a chocolate fountain.
After a candlelit dinner, we had some dancing music thanks to iPod speakers that ran on batteries... our first dance was to Bobby Darin's Beyond the Sea, and then everyone joined in with some more oldie hits. Lots of Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong, and later on some Motown and the electric slide. What fun!
